Scholarships at Leeds College of Art

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Leeds Arts University is proud to offer a GREAT Scholarship! The GREAT Scholarship 2025 programme, launched by the British Council, supports postgraduate students to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

Leeds Arts University is delighted to offer one GREAT Scholarship for an Indian student applying for a one-year postgraduate course. The scholarship will be awarded as a £10,000 tuition fee discount.

Applications will be considered by a scholarship panel and awarded on the basis of:

• Academic grades.

• Strength of application as evidenced by the personal statement.

• Strength of portfolio.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be citizens and residents of India.

• Applicants must be holding an offer of a place for postgraduate study for 2025 entry.

• This award is available only to postgraduate applicants who are liable to pay tuition fees at the international fee rate.

• Successful applicants must accept the scholarship and pay the tuition fee deposit by the deadline stated in the award letter.

Deadline for applications: 5:00pm BST on 13 June 2025.

We are pleased to offer applicants progressing to study at Leeds Arts University from an official partner university a 20% tuition fee discount for the first year of the course. Our partner universities are:

Current Leeds Arts University international students directly progressing from our Foundation Diploma in Art and Design to an undergraduate degree, or from an undergraduate degree to a postgraduate degree, are eligible for a 10% tuition fee discount. The discount is applied to the tuition fees for each year of the course.

We have a wide range of scholarships, normally awarded as a tuition fee discount for the first year of the course. Our scholarships start from £2,000 and are available to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, the strength of your application, your personal statement and if applicable, the quality of your portfolio/audition.

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, so early application for a place at the University is advised.

A cash scholarship of £3,000 per year for three years will be awarded to two home students and one international student.

The scholarships aim to support the general living and maintenance costs of students during their time at university to enable them to progress successfully. The scholarship covers, for example, equipment, materials, travel, food and rent which a loan or family support may not cover.

International students are only able to apply for one of the available scholarships.

The successful students will receive £3,000 per year for three years in three increments paid in November, February, and May, which are dependent on attendance and satisfactory academic progress.

You must have applied to one of our undergraduate courses and have accepted an offer to study with us. For home students, you must also have made your application to Student Finance England before you can apply for the scholarship.

The successful applicants are expected to act as ambassadors for the University and may be asked to contribute to promotional activities and campaigns.

Scholarship criteria for international students

Students are to complete an application form outlining how the scholarship will benefit their studies and the International team will recommend based on aptitude and talent.

International students must demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to meet Visa requirements.
