Newcastle University is pleased to offer 10 Newcastle – India Leadership and Innovation Scholarship awards for applicants from India who apply to commence full-time, one-year Master’s studies on an eligible programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must: 

• be domiciled in India; 

• be assessed as international for fee purposes; 

• hold an offer for an eligible, full-time, one-year Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year; 

• must already have or expect the receive the equivalent of a first-class UK Honours degree. 

Applicants will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application; and must provide evidence of leadership and innovation in extracurricular activities, student organizations, sports, community involvement or professional activities. 

Value of award

• 10% of the tuition fee per year.

Eligibility criteria

This discount is only available to students studying at the Newcastle city campus.

The University offers partial discounts to close relatives (husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter) of students and graduates, who have been assessed as International for fees purposes, and who wish to pursue their studies at Newcastle University in 2022/23 or are currently studying here. 

Students may only apply for a discount if they are registered as a student at the University or after they have been offered a place to study on their chosen degree programme, and have been assessed as International for fees purposes.

Where two family members are intending to start their studies in any academic year or are currently studying at the University, one member will be eligible to apply for the International Family Discount (IFD).

250 scholarships of £6,000 towards tuition fees are available for students from Bahrain, Canada, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, USA or Vietnam

To be considered for awards applicants must:

• be domiciled in of one of the following countries: Bahrain, Canada, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, USA or Vietnam.

• have been offered a place to study on an eligible undergraduate degree course at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year

• be assessed as international for fee purposes

*NB Applicants domiciled in Turkey can only be considered if they are self-funding their studies.
