Scholarships at St George's University of London

The GREAT Scholarship 2025 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 70 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from around the world to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK.

The GREAT Scholarship and City St George’s

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, City St George’s University of London is offering 1 scholarship to students in India applying for postgraduate courses. 

We are offering a total of 1 scholarship of £10,000 to students from India:

• 1 x £10,000 Scholarship to a student from India applying to one of the courses below;

Please note: you must be a passport holder of India to apply for this scholarship. 

Courses eligible for the GREAT Scholarship:

• Applied Biomedical Science MSc

• Biomedical Science MRes

• Clinical Neuroscience Practice MSc

• Genomic Medicine MSc

• Global Health MRes and MSc

• Medical Ethics, Law & Humanities MA

• Sports Cardiology MSc

Deadline for application to course to be considered for GREAT Scholarship: 1 May 2025.

Class of ​2001 alumnus, Mr Ravi Ray, works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals, Spire Hartswood, Spire Wellesley, Nuffield Brentwood & Harley Street Specialist Hospitals. Mr Ray also provides educational input and pastoral care to junior doctors, nurses & physiotherapists as well as being involved in national recruitment of junior doctors into specialist Orthopaedic training. Mr Ray's passion for (legacy) St George's and desire to support the next generation of medical and health care professionals led to the creation of the Ravi Ray Scholarship in Undergraduate Medicine. 

About the scholarship

The Ravi Ray Scholarship in Undergraduate Medicine helps alleviate financial concerns for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate outstanding potential to make a difference in the world. Each year, the scholarship will provide funding towards one Medicine scholar’s tuition fees or living costs for the final three years of their programme. 

The selected scholar will receive £3,000 annually towards tuition fees for Years 3, 4 and towards living costs for Year 5 (or an intercalated year) of their degree.
